Key leadership-Going around and counting pozis- Excellence blog post #1

30/3/17 Today after school me and Savanah went around all the classrooms to collect pozis as a part of our weekly duty as house points co-ordinators. Me and savanah have a system in place where we go to the class rooms in order so we don't disturb any important lessons. First we go to two of the year 6 classes the year 5 then 4,3,2,1 reception then the other year 6 class class. I think me and Savanah are doing really well at our duty we get it done quicker each time.  Me and savanah show active thinking and community by activly thinking our way aound the classroomes and showing community by helping the comunity of oaklands school by not interupting the important lessons, I also showed Integrity by being honest and fair to all houses and giveing them all a chance to win.

Key Leadership-Counting pozis-Merit post #5

18/3/17 On Thursday I went around the school to collect in all the pozis. First we started at the year 6 hub then went down to year 5 hub so on. This time it was very hard because a lot of the teachers keep forgetting to write the totals on the box I will solve this problem by putting something in the teacher notices to remind them. Also another problem was that in some parts of the school the internet was playing up me and Savannah solved this by writing the totals on a piece of paper and entering them in when we had internet. I showed active thinking by thinking up ways to solve our problems and I also showed community because I contributed to the community of Oaklands School by collecting the pozis.

Year 7/8 Writing Blog Post

In writing I have been learning to: use all basic punctuation independently attempt more complex punctuation (eg semicolons, colons, parentheses) I have been especially focussing on using parentheses and commas. I have highlighted these in green where I have used them as well as other punctuation that I changed because it was used incorrectly. Here is the first paragraph in my writing. Leadership is a skill of being able to motivate people/teams to work towards a goal. To be a good leader you need to be able to properly demonstrate these six traits of an effective leader : Integrity , Trustworthy , Resilient , Goal Focused , Active Thinker , and Motivational. My key leadership role for 2017 is House Points Co-ordinator. This means that I am in charge of counting Pozis and presenting the results in assembly.

Games with minimal or no equipment.

In PE we have been participating in a variety of games that require little or no equipment. Below is the Matrix which shows our progression in this unit of learning. The table below shows my understanding of games with minimal or no equipment. Examples of Games that need minimal or no equipment. What equipment would we usually need to play these games.   Why do we play games with minimal or no equipment? Hospital Tag Captions Coming Cones and bibs. Because just in case we are bored or if we have to look after a group of juniors and we can entertain them. My Strengths.   Some things that I have done well during this unit of learning Is coming up with great ideas to change the game because The teachers asked us to make so changes to make the games even more fun. My Next Steps. Some things I could improve on when playing games with minimal or no equipment Is to know more games that don't need to many players Because All the games i know nee

Key leadership blog post-first time presenting house points in assembly-merit #4

6/3/17 Today after lunch there was a whole school assembly I was very nervous for this assembly because this was the first time I had to present the house points update. Sitting up the front waiting for my name to be caled was nerve racking. Once I was on stage I suddenly felt all right I think I presented my bit well by putting enthusiasm into my voice. So far Rata is winning then Miro then Kowhai then Rimu. I think I showed Active Thinking because last minute before assembly there was a problem with the presentation and Mr Muller and I quickly solved.

Key Leadership-exciting leadership meating-Merit post #3

1/3/17 On Monday the 27/2/17 Mr Ladbrook took all of the student leaders in a meeting. Everyone got a chair and we formed a circle. This meeting was a very exciting meeting because Mr Ladbrook said that all of the student leaders as well as the Head pals and Peer Mediators will be going on a school field trip to the council. This is really exciting news because I have never been to the council before. After all that news Mr Ladbrook asked if Savannah and I could come to school a bit early the next day to soft out and organise some stuff to do with house point co-coordinating. The next day Savannah and I came to school early. First we sent the google slide we made to Mr Ladbrook for him to say weather it is good e for assembly then Mr Ladbrook ask me if I could sent out an email to inform all the teachers about when me a savannah will come to their class to collect there pozis.
